Love the look of the lights. I love the warm glow they give. We never use remote controlled or multiple lighting modes. They are great for illuminating our stairs at night without letting in too much light. However, here are a few things to consider beforehand: 1) Get rechargeable AA batteries and a charger if you don't already have one. With a bit of luck, the service life of both sets that we bought is only a maximum of 2-3 days. 2) Make sure your partnership/friendship is strong if you have someone to help you set it up. Even after the experience of installing the first set, the second set was still difficult. Thin copper wires twist like crazy. My husband had the brilliant idea of using a roll of paper towels and wrapping the light around it first and then around the railing. That's the only reason we're still married. I am very happy with the result, but I would seriously reconsider this purchase and most likely choose lamps powered by the magic of electricity if I could do it again.
