I bought these shoes as walking/hiking shoes, not running shoes. I think they would be too clunky for running. I am happy with the purchase. These are weatherproof, as well as sturdy and well-made. They are comfortable and I do wear thicker socks with them. I donned these shoes all last winter here in California and we got the lion's share of rain and cold, but the shoes held up fine. I have high toe box and these shoes fit perfectly, with room enough to spare when your feet swell from walking/hiking long distances. I love the bright color and am very satisfied with this purchase
