Review on Sony DEJ011 Portable Walkman CD Player: Must-have Classic (Discontinued by Manufacturer) by Stephen Schmidt

After a long time my first Walkman died, so I bought a second one. The sound quality on this unit is excellent, I wear a fanny pack to carry it around when walking or doing other work, and the buttons and screen are on the edge of the Walkman where they're easy to see and use. . Before I decided to spend the extra money on another Walkman, I bought a cheaper Jensen portable player. Well, the sound quality, while satisfactory, isn't nearly as good as the Sony Walkman, and the buttons and display aren't quite as comfortable. In fact, the sound is good enough for me as I'm listening to books recorded with the device, not music. But I invested and bought a second Walkman and I don't regret it. The only criticism of the device is that the batteries are quite difficult to remove due to the design. They are covered and not easy to get to. I solved this problem a long time ago by removing them with the tip of a letter opener. Having to change batteries on the go (and I don't have a letter opener with me!) is a bit annoying. However, that wouldn't stop me from buying a Walkman. This is the only area where the Jensen outperforms the Sony Walkman; The batteries in the Jensen are conveniently located on the back of the unit.
