DO NOT BUY! The hamster has gnawed a hole in the wheel! It's made of styrofoam! I cannot stress enough how wrong this is for a hamster

Wow! Our little hamster Thor took to him straight away and he is VERY SILENT! Thanks to the guy from the previous review for the easy assembly instructions.

Whilst otherwise would have been a great purchase unfortunately one of the nuts was missing (for one of the bolts). The remaining metal pieces fell out of the box and into the mailer/envelope. Another nut did not fit the bolt as if badly machined. There were no instructions included. I have not returned the item but am considering doing so as I do not have enough small nuts and bolts to replace what is missing and does not fit.

read this for instructions-1) Before doing anything else, put the screw out of the inside of the wheel. It fits snugly in the center hole with the round part almost becoming part of the wheel. 2) Now add the white triangles with the studs facing out. 3) Attach to the cage with the washer next to the wheel. , cage and washer outside with the wing outside 4) Tighten properly This should take about 5 minutes, it took me 30 without instructions. 😎

The only thing that made it difficult was the lack of instructions. A few small pieces connected through the middle, but I didn't know which piece went where, other than the pole that went through the middle. Aside from the instructions, my husband put it together fairly quickly. We have a fat hamster, he is a fashionable bear and hibernates, so he is really big. This bike is very, very quiet and I can only hear how it works if I listen carefully!

What does a Syrian need to get a decent balance bike over here?! It's completely silent and my guys managed to put it together with minimal difficulty (which is saying something - I love these guys, but they're not the sharpest tools in the shed). And don't be fooled when they tell you it's a whopping 8 inches. It is not. In the best case it is 7 inches. Now I walk for hours with my back practically half arched! To be honest sometimes I pretend I have a headache and just skip it.

Our first purchase was a one time purchase obviously because it was in great condition, quiet, sturdy and our Syrian hamster liked it, a few months later we ordered a second one, it arrived with the missing parts, covered with dried glue and missing parts, we asked for a replacement, it arrived with no parts and broken parts of the wheel. Firstly, if you have a guinea pig, NEVER put them on an exercise bike. Regardless of what the item description states, you CANNOT put them in these things because of their backing. They should not bend, as their small spikes break easily. Second, this wheel says it's fit for a hedgehog. It's not like this!
