Review on πŸ”³ Tenax Marble Polishing Compound Powder by Daniel Revlon

Good product, better / need more detailed instructions

Product appears to be working well. We used this on our onyx tile floor to bring back the shine to the surface. Despite the lack of shoes in the room, the tile begins to fade somewhat over time. The instructions aren't very clear, it says to make a "toothpaste" consistency, but that doesn't happen with this product. It's gritty rather than powdery, so it doesn't really stick together into a paste. I watched a few videos on YT and just seemed to get some inspiration. I used a 5 inch random orbit sander with these pads: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H1ZF28G/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_0 I just used a spray bottle filled with water, sprayed some of this product on the floor and then wet the whole thing with a spray bottle. Dampen the felt pad on the grinder, then start buffing. The material gets everywhere when you use the grinder, but I was expecting a bit of a mess. The grinder was moving all the time, wasting maybe 20-30 seconds on the tile. Again, there were no detailed instructions on how to use it, so I just went with what seemed right. Immediately wipe the floor with a damp cloth to remove any residue. Did this for every section of tile I worked on and finally finished the entire floor. Then I had to vacuum up the remaining mess of spills and wipe the entire floor again with a damp then dry rag. Done by resealing the tiles. The entire process for our relatively small bathroom took just a few hours. At the end the shine is back but a lot of the scratches have healed badly there, it just looks more polished now. So maybe I could sand each tile longer and maybe that would smooth out any scratches, but the shine is back so I'm relatively happy. Again, I think more detailed instructions should be provided or tutorial videos posted so people know how best to get the best results.

Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
