These bags are considerable thinner than all other bags I have used in the past. I'm having difficulty sealing them properly because the mylar tends to melt too much in my impulse sealer (I'm hopeful that this is simply a matter of finding the correct "sweet spot" on the sealer.I also did not realize (because it is not listed in the description) that the bags are not light proof. This now means that I'll have to make sure they are kept stored in a light-proof container (just adds to the cost of storage on top of the original price of the bags).My biggest 'gripe', however, is the fact that these are not the bags I ordered. I ordered plain bags but was sent 'Ziploc' mylar bags. Though this might seem to be an upgrade, I've come to realize that the decreased volume available for food due to the space dedicated to the Ziploc has prevented me from using them for their specific, intended purpose because they don't hold as much as a standard 8 x 12 bag.I did not realize all of these negatives until using the bags so I cannot return them (or at least I would not feel good about returning them) at this point. Looks like I'll just have to find another use for them.
