Troubleshooting or circuit analysis with my old (cheap) proximity detector was becoming more and more annoying than productive with all the detector's "false positives". It seemed like every wire I touched was hot. Most of the time I got my multimeter or wiggy (yes I'm that old) to really know what's what. The GT-16's sensitivity setting is just what these simple metal detectors need. A quick adjustment with a thumb wheel to eliminate those false positives and you are on your way to fast and reliable circuit analysis. Personally, I didn't need any additional features other than the sensitivity control, so it's ideal for me. GREAT TOOL! peter s
