There was a mail slot in the old door of my house. When replacing this door I decided to ditch the mailbox and add a mailbox. I found this one very quickly and loved it as it fits the aesthetic of my home very well. The exterior of my house is brick. I used four 1 1/4" lag bolts to install this mailbox into the holes I pre-drilled. I used the rubber grommets provided between the brick and the mailbox. It's pretty easy to install. The USPS doesn't have to approve mailboxes installed in the house as much as mailboxes intended to be placed on a street pole, but shortly after I met my postman, installed and he said he didn't have any problems, which made me very happy.I have it Installed for 3 months now and did not notice the water coming in and damaging the mail I am very happy with this mailbox !
