A big improvement over the jacket I had previously and it was fine for riding but not warm enough to walk for more than a few minutes. As I walked between the train station and my office in downtown Chicago, I found that I needed a hood as my wool hat wasn't warm enough. This jacket is exactly what I needed. The jacket is thick but not too thick, the fabric is nice to look at (I get compliments all the time) and completely repels snow. It's very warm and the built in "gloves" keep the wind away from the exposed skin over my gloves - what a difference! These are well-made clothes. I wish it was a little longer, but overall I'm happy with it.
