Ok so this is my second knife by this brand because I really like the durable handles that can handle a little moisture. I was originally disappointed because although the name sounds Japanese, these are made in China. Having lived in Japan I'm aware of the long history of sword-making and quality knives.Do not gift this to a person who is from Japan. It will send a message you want to sever the relationship. Unless that's what you want to do.I wish you could buy them in a full set.
