Cheap aerator, lots of splashes

I didn't think about it, but water pools or narrows as it falls. The aerator is just a piece of plastic with not very small squares, so no screen. The aerator constantly divides the flow into two or three small jets or has a side outlet, the rest is collected. It's clean, I can see through it, and I took it out to check. I'll leave it like that for now, it's much nicer to have more volume with less pressure and a little less spatter. A better aerator could direct the water flow down into a wider stream and be pretty neat. I have a Kohler kitchen faucet that does this. I didn't expect the faucet to have such decent water pressure. This can be a plus, although with its height it splashes everywhere. This works better with a taller drop-in sink because with the standard low sink in my 80's house, you have to reach down too far to prevent the water from splashing all over the outside of the sink. feels solid in the base like it's floating on rubber grommets that can take ages to wear out. Looks very nice and the price is good. I decided I'm not a fan of this high end style of bathroom fixtures. I now realize that I prefer a medium arch where the water comes out 3-4 inches above the deck and 4-5 inches above the sink. In addition, it seems too intrusive and sparkling. Also, I had to use plywood in which I cut holes for installation because I was installing it on a thin sink and not a countertop. The sink was too thin and the plastic nuts failed before tightening. It's not really a problem, but some big thick washers in the kit would be nice and would save me time and hassle.
