Review on Karcher 17663610 Twin Sweeper Yellow by Anthony Lanka

Your kids will fight over it and you'll have to sweep in the dark when they sleep.

I bought this sweeper to clean the pool we are building in the hope that it will help keep the rubbish out of the pool. This is actually a lie, the real reason I bought this sweeper is because my parents have it and as soon as I saw it I knew I needed it. The above reason was just an excuse I used for my wife to justify the purchase. First of all, this sweeper does not replace tools. You'll still need a broom, corner broom, blower, and probably a dustpan. However, it's a great garden cleaning companion that speeds up sweeping your hard surfaces, and you might even have fun with it. My property is small but has a variety of areas that this sweeper was able to quickly cover. I have a large concrete driveway, a polished concrete pool deck, a paved patio and sidewalk in front of the house, and artificial grass in the back yard. This sweeper handled anything I threw with relative ease and very little training. Here are a few notes/suggestions I came up with for using it on different surfaces: - On a slab of stone I found it took several passes to pick up all the debris but compared to a pusher brush it was very quick and easy. - For my artificial grass I found it necessary to remove the front horizontal brushes. The front brushes were difficult to maneuver and I was afraid that the straps that rotate them might break. - Wet foliage will require you to make multiple passes - Sweeper will not reverse so you will need an angled brush or blower to move debris into places where you can make a full pass. With dirt or sand, you must hit the dirt with the front brushes to stir up/loosen it so that the rear brush disc can pick it up. This tool is completely unnecessary, but if you have the money to buy it and a place to keep it, I highly recommend it. It makes cleaning easy and fun, and if your kids are like mine, they'll be fighting over who gets to use it. I've only used it one day so can't speak about reliability, but my parents had a previous model for several years and it still works great when used regularly. I think ours will last a long time too.
