Low resolution on HDTV, no arcade ports

I'm a big fan of retro games. I grew up in the 80's and early 90's when Neo Geo cabinets were the backbone of local arcades. Since this product is shaped like an arcade machine, you might think that it houses the arcade versions of the games. You are wrong. These are homeports with a limited number of lives and persistence. Good luck with Metal Slug! Although they come with an HDMI cable, these games look terrible on a modern TV. The picture is not clear and not clear. You can turn on the anti-aliasing feature, but that's the only filter you get. While the NES mini, SNES mini, Genesis mini and TG-16 mini all output over HDMI with incredibly sharp and clear images with multiple filtering options, this device has none of it. It's a real shame because compilation releases since the PS3 era and all of Hamster's excellent Neo Geo ports look fantastic in HD. Worse still is the fact that if you want to modify your Mini and void its warranty, you can install an operating system that will play those titles correctly so they look amazing on a modern TV. I don't understand why Neo-Geo didn't think it was necessary. I found the placement of the device buttons awkward, especially where the action button is found in many shooters. The arcade itself is pretty boring to look at, even with the stickers that come with it, and the simplified menu navigation feels super easy and cheap, especially considering the awesome menus on all the other mini-consoles I've mentioned. On the plus side, the terrible picture quality gives you a clear idea of how these games should have looked on a regular TV back in the day. I don't know, it was never planned to afford the Neo-Geo. Some positive points. Considering the number of titles and controllers included, this is a steal at $70. Note these are home imports and this video output is terrible but this is a good list with excellent emulation. These titles are sold separately for $8 in modern stores, so it's a good deal. Video output seems like an easy fix when the hackers have already managed to fix the problem, but the build quality is excellent and everything is packaged very well. I wanted to love this article. Neo Geo names stand the test of time well. But I couldn't get over the terrible video quality, citing it as the main reason for my low score.
