Review on Efficiently Remove Freewheels with ๐Ÿ”ง Park Tool HCW-6/7/9/15Y Freewheel Remover Wrench by Jonathan Robertson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

An essential and excellent wrench for bikes with a threaded headset

If you have a bike with a threaded headset then this is probably the size wrench you need for servicing. This wrench is laser cut from heat treated steel, which I believe is HRC 60 or so (that's a measure of Rockwell hardness) with about 0.75% carbon. (if I remember correctly) This means this wrench will not bend or fail you when you apply 80Nm of torque to try to unscrew an old rusty headset. (I know a month ago I fixed a 30 year old bike with this wrench) And that's exactly what you need. Obviously as stated in the description one hole is 32mm and the other end for 36mm nuts. Combine that with the fact that the Park Tool wrench is made in America and costs about $14 and you have a five star product. I'm glad to have it in my bike tool box.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged
