I've tested both the E18 Pro and the Aura and the reason this review gets 4 stars is simply because of how much better it is E18 is . This scanner doubles as a desk lamp and can be folded when not closed. This makes it less intrusive and more useful for the everyday user. It also features a foot pedal for hands-free operation. With that being said; This is really only for casual users as the ET18 is really what this product should have been. While this device can definitely detect the edges of objects, straighten them and smooth book pages; It's a lot slower to do this and its AI isn't as good as the ET18 at object/edge detection. Also, it has trouble detecting objects that aren't directly under the light/camera. In terms of image capture speed; It takes up to 10 seconds to capture and process an image. This can make fetching many images painful and slow. For comparison, the ET18 takes an image and processes it in about 2-4 seconds. To me, that means that while Aura is a great scanning product; This is really intended for the casual user who sometimes needs to scan a few pages of a book or magazine for reference or as a hobby. Regarding software; The CZUR Aura software can do the same as the CZUR Scanner software for ET18. However, I have found that the CZUR scanner software recognizes the scanner very quickly and is faster overall. Whereas the CZUR Aura software was slower and sometimes took a while to find the scanner. Regarding technical support; Aura didn't work out of the box. But after I spoke to CZUR support, they fixed my scanner via TeamViewer as the scanner had to write a NEW ID itself. I assume I have a prototype model that didn't include some of the data that a normal model would have if you bought it today. All in all, this is a very innovative scanner that will surely change the concept of scanning. In the coming years. If you really need to use it today to scan large amounts of pages/books I would invest in the CZUR ET18 Pro instead as it is much better and faster than this scanner. Whether you use it occasionally or just expect to scan a few pages a day/week; then this scanner will be of great value and fit better into your life. takes up less space; and also serves as a table lamp. Personally, you can't go wrong with either option; Just by testing both, you should really weigh your use cases before buying either model. If my review helped you at all; Please mark it as useful! Thanks very much!
