I have a 65 pound 7 month old lab puppy and because he pulls when he walks I thought this might help. The nylon part ripped and the whole collar came off when I was taking my daughter to school. Luckily I had a spare clip (a small attachment with clips on both ends) so I could quickly grab my dog and change the clip. I could lose my dog in the middle of school and it could be a messy situation. I was specifically looking for a collar with a medal buckle and thought it would be more durable, but heck if the nylon piece is brittle it can still break. I've seen someone break a spiked collar, so it doesn't matter which collar you use, I really recommend investing in a good spare clip. It only costs about $20 and gives you peace of mind.
