I use them in my cyclocross tires (yes 28c tubes are great for 33c tyres) for racing and just normal terrain and Training. I went this direction to be able to easily change tires (for changing conditions) but still be able to ride at relatively low pressure without fear of pinching. Even on very rough terrain, I can easily run in the high 20psi range. Undoubtedly the improvement in handling and grip is significant (compared to butyl tubes) and they are objectively lighter and claim to improve rolling resistance. Yes, you need to be extra careful during installation (I recommend reading this beforehand). , as these are valuable skills anyway) and you need to check pressure/inflation before every ride. but you still have to do it! As with many things Italian, they require a little more care and handling, but the reward is definitely worth it (see: Ferrari, Italian cuisine, and my wife). They may seem a little flimsy, and they are, but once properly installed they're pretty strong and durable (I've driven through stains on a goat's head that would otherwise kill the butyl pipe), and there are plenty of decades-old ones out there rolling tubes. there with original latex hoses around. Storage is another thing to consider. Light and heat are bad, so keep them (and your bike) inside if you can. The tire is like an open tube. Attention sealant. Yes, you can remove the valve core and inject sealant into it for added puncture protection, but I would strongly advise against it. This is because when the hose is sufficiently deflated, the inner walls stick to each other. Latex tubing can be patched (contrary to popular belief) and I've done this quite successfully using bits of old LATEX tubing (don't grind, just tape onto a strip) or even latex gloves in a pinch. However, if the hose is sealed with sealant, there's little chance you'll be able to pull it off and patch it successfully. Worse, the tube can stick together in such a way that it effectively closes and you get a catastrophic blowout on a steep descent in a CX race. Ask me how I know. Considering these whistles are quite expensive, I would rather patch the whistle when I get home than throw it away altogether because the gasket is too tightly sealed. All in all, a really good buy for your CX bike, but their tricky nature doesn't make them for everyone.
