Review on Tripod Sirui ET-2004, black by Boguslawa Bieda ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am satisfied, the purchase is quite successful.

I think that this is one of the best tripods in terms of price-quality ratio. I saw tripods of this quality from competitors at a price sometimes 2 times higher, and not every one of them was even of the same quality as Sirui. I personally compared it in the store and was surprised that a tripod of a more famous brand, with a twofold difference in price, turned out to be much worse in quality. Pictured are two of my Sirui tripods, ET-2022 with K-20X head (left) and ET-1004 with E-10 head (right).

Pros
  • 1)Excellent tripod quality. The design of this model does not cause a feeling of a toy. She doesn't wobble like cheap models. The ET-2022 tripod leg section diameter is larger and the construction is noticeably tighter and less bending under hand pressure than the ET-1004. Therefore, I recommend this particular model as a budget option for a more or less high-quality tripod. It is clear that tripods like Gitzo, which are really uncompromising in quality, are incomparable in price, but this, in my opinion, is the model with which you can really shoot and get excellent results. 2) The clips make it possible to quickly assemble and disassemble the tripod, it is very convenient. Especially when the palms are small, collets on other models are less convenient to use. 3) Good equipment - a carrying case of excellent quality and all the keys for adjustment as much as 2 pieces of each type. 4) Very compact when folded - only 43 cm, I carry it inside a small photo backpack along with a camera.
Cons
  • 1) The main drawback is that the clip-locks become loose over time and they have to be tightened regularly, it is advisable to always have the keys with you. 2) I also think that it will be problematic to shoot on such a tripod in windy weather, I believe that its mass is still too small to resist the wind at least a little, the problem increases many times with increasing focal length. In this case, the central rod should never be extended in order to maintain maximum stability of the structure. 3) I also consider the design of rubber bands with holes for spikes on the bottom of the legs to be a drawback, because they get very clogged with sand, sometimes I just seal them with electrical tape so that I don’t wipe them for half an hour after shooting if I have to shoot somewhere on the ground or on the sand.
