It has worked well a few times now, although I've had cases in the past where some adapters like this one failed prematurely so I'm holding back my expectations on this. However, so far it has worked flawlessly and this was an important part of my ability to repair a corrupt operating system installation with all data safe. I have multiple bays and hot-swap docks and this fits perfectly and feels like I'll break it if I put it in the vertical dock. The metal around it offers some stiffness and protection, but gives a little. My biggest criticism is the screws for attachment. I wish there was a better way to hold the drive and hold the cover together, but someone would have to redesign it to achieve this. Overall I am happy with this purchase and hope it will last for many years to come. . You can't buy them locally so it's worth it in and of itself.
