Review on M POWER CRB7 7 In 1 Router Jig by Rafael Lewis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great idea, good execution, but could be better.

Great concept, good execution but could be better. It really can be a fantastic tool. I even considered mounting the CRB7 on linear bearings with guide rods perpendicular to the liner guides. Build something like a manual CNC milling machine. He felt strong. Seems to be very versatile. This piece is probably perfect for the casual crafter or weekend warrior. However, I wasn't sure if that would work for my purposes. Works with all 3 of my routers. And they are from two different manufacturers (the battery compact Makita 0700, the Festool 1400 and my big Makita RP2301FC). I also have a mortise and grooving piece (which should be included at this price point). And after I assembled it, it was impressive. seemed strong. In fact the only reason I returned it was because the guide rods weren't quite straight and I had enough tools that I don't use. I suspect the guide rod issue was probably pilot error and I didn't adjust it properly or something. But I decided to play it safe. I don't have much markup in the price of my work, certainly not enough to redo whole parts because they're neither square nor straight. So it went back. I gave 4 stars because it is well made and well thought out. Although fit and finish could be better. The fine tuning knob was very difficult to turn and I think the cutter can move a bit when flooding. Anyhow, I hope this helps.
