More average than average. Get some Torino brushes and they seem to be more expensive, the design is better and the color lasts longer IF you're extra careful. A pair I didn't make has it torn just like the picture above. Also, you have to think about the physics when buying one, as perhaps not enough has been invested in designs with 11 or more (?) rows. Too many equal rows = weak material to hold those bristles in place. Knowing this, I would stick with the 7-9 row style. 11 is too many as they break easily even with proper care.
