Follow the instructions. First I got a message that it was not compatible. But I turned off the device, restarted it, then followed the instructions again and it updated with no issues. You need to let the car run for about 10 minutes while it updates. It looks like a Toyota package. I also received a key fob and two clear plastic disks (like thick foil). I'm not sure what they are for.
