On my first try the saw did a little damage on the outside, enough for me to stop and go back to 2" general purpose blades and razors. Then I had to putty and repaint. I blamed the damage on the wall, which was covered with a protective layer that couldn't withstand the vibrations. The next time I used it it was on a painted wall. I even cut out the first 1/8 inch with a cutter. This time the vibration shattered the back of the wall panel and caused lateral cracks on the front. Here, too, the walls had to be repaired and painted. So both attempts damaged the wall panel, resulting in a repair that took several hours. I will no longer use this multifunction saw. I will be using razor blades and 2 inch multipurpose vibratory saws. At least I know the cuts are clean and I won't have to repaint the walls.
