Review on J Tech Digital JTD VGA COMTOHDMI Video YPbPr by Gregory Plump

This is NOT an "upscaler" as the product name and description would suggest. It's just a converter. I read a lot of good reviews about this company's customer service, so I went to them, but no customer service can correct misleading product names and descriptions. I consider myself a tech savvy user. I knew exactly what product I was looking for when I bought it. Buying something only to find out it doesn't do what it promises is an annoying waste of time and money. Finally, what I noticed (wish I had noticed sooner) is that the product description includes the following warning: in bold. "Caution: Please make sure the resolution of your TV supports the resolution of your input devices, otherwise no picture will be displayed." This shows that they are CLEARLY aware of the lack of zoom functions in their devices. Otherwise, what difference does it make if your TV supports the input resolution of your device? If this so-called "upscaler" could actually upscale your input signal, it would automatically upscale your input device to an HD resolution recognized by your TV's HDMI port. This device doesn't do that at all. My Wii console outputs 480p through the component. When you use this device it converts it to HDMI and my TV sees it as a 480p signal over HDMI. This is NOT upscaling. This is a simple conversion from component to HDMI. I will be avoiding J-Tech Digital in the future as I'm sure I'm not the only one misled by this product. The fact that they still haven't bothered to change the name or description shows that they (as a company) clearly don't care about misleading their current and future customers.
