Review on Caseology Vault - Matte Black Apple AirTag Case for AirTag Keychain (2021) by Shane Minter

It doesn't hold the airtag securely in place

I bought this keychain because it received a lot of positive feedback quickly and looks well designed. Unfortunately I was disappointed with the overall product when I received it. You insert the Airtag into this holder by pressing it in. The opening in the TPU is slightly smaller than in the Airtag so it stays in place under pressure from the holder. Most other Airtag cases have a latch to keep the Airtag securely in place. I was able to detach the airtag by simply squeezing it with one finger. I was originally going to use it to attach to luggage being checked in on an airline, but after seeing how easily the airtag could pop out, I wasn't sure it would stay in place after baggage handling. So I tried using it as a keychain but the carabiner was thicker than the hole on my key so it didn't fit. No problem, I decided to just remove the carabiner and use my own key ring. Well, that didn't work either because the rubber is so thick that a regular key ring doesn't fit inside. Eventually I gave up and sent it back. This is a good first try by Caseology, but they need to reconsider their design. This device will not hold the Airtag securely in place no matter what they say. It must be secured with a latch or other more durable casing. Finally, the device looks like it should sell for around $4. At current prices, this is unrealistically expensive. Airtag cases are beginning to flood the market.
