I have hesitated between buying this and another canister that you refill for fear I wouldn't be able to find the right butane but any butane canister with a notch will do out. It works so great. The instructions are in the packaging. You just hook it (align the notch and twist) with butane. The rear button controls the gas on/off. The ring on the torch adjusts the size of the flame. You only have to pull the ignition trigger once to start the flame (which means you don't have to hold it down, but you can if you're more comfortable). Turning it off is very easy and I wasn't worried about the gas still being active. Then just twist to loosen. I like that it doesn't stick to the butane when not in use so it's safer. The burner tube stays warm after use, so I just set it aside until it cools. It works flawlessly and feels comfortable on my small hands. I've used it for crème brûlée and when I tilt it to really get there it doesn't flare up (like my dad's blowtorch). I love this product it's so easy to use and I highly recommend it.
