Review on Impressive ISpring CKC1C Countertop Filter Housing for Clean Water by Brandon Rogers

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Tasty water at a great price.

UPDATE: just replaced with the exact same unit because last time we managed to tighten the housing so much that all our attempts to loosen it to change the filter were useless (took 2 weeks of trying with multiple tools, hot water etc before I was ready to give up). Not the fault of the product. We just overtightened it. The replacement was easy and we are now back with the new filter, still 100% thrilled with the unit. Our water company keeps sending letters saying the water problem is being "investigated" but sees no effort to improve our water supply, so this filter is a must. We live in a small town that has a history of lead in municipal water and lots of agricultural runoff. That means they chlorinate our water so much it even makes my eyes water. We installed shower filters a long time ago but put off buying a kitchen filter due to the high price of most units. When I saw the price for it I thought why don't you try it. Well, that's a HUGE difference in our lives. The water is just as good as bottled water, leaks very quickly (I even use it for pasta water) and is clear. I mean clean—not even bubbles form in the water bottles we keep in the fridge. My only issue, as many have mentioned here, is that there are minimal installation instructions. Dealing with the sink bracket was easy. The question was in which direction the filter should be placed. I didn't see any difference between the two ends, but the instructions insisted it had to be done in a special way. Well, either it doesn't matter, or I accidentally managed to choose the right direction.

Pros
  • Water filtration and softening
Cons
  • has been damaged
