I chose this for my first sculpting experience because it was the cheapest I could find. I was pleasantly surprised that if you follow the directions to the letter you get really decent results. I made molds for napkin rings by placing the rings on rolled plasticine and then using disposable plastic cups with the bottoms cut off as a dam. After the molds had cured I filled them with epoxy. I had a few complaints though, first as others have mentioned what about lids that don't screw on? It is literally impossible to keep the containers sealed with the inner lid. I had lots and lots of bubbles, but most disappeared during curing, although some remained, they were outside of the mold. I've tried contacting customer service but these guys don't seem to have an online existence that I can find. A few tips: - Be prepared, when you're ready to start mixing, your work should be ready to shape. - If you don't use the entire amount, mix it up in a plastic bowl. I used an old take out container. - Stir SLOWLY, fast stirring will cause bubbles. - I didn't mention this in the instructions, but don't stir the product with silicone tools or wooden spatulas, it won't mix properly. Instead, use an old metal knife that you no longer use or a plastic knife. After curing, the silicone peels off immediately. - Don't use silicone mats in the workplace, this stuff literally melted some of the stains on my mat and turned them into a gel-like form that will never set. - Pour out a good height, almost like a long rope to eliminate some bubbles. - Cleanup wasn't too bad, just let your tools dry in a bowl and you can take them off. - Double mitt - Use a mix and pour kit, then take it off and you already have a cleaning kit. Do not use alcohol to clean uncured silicone without gloves as it will get on your skin. All in all it's a good experience. I will then try using platinum silicone to see if it works for me, since I will be casting epoxy, the translucent silicone helps me see through the mold better (my snowflakes weren't well distributed when casting epoxy, for example). pouring but it was hard to see as the silicone rubber is purple).
