Review on 🚴 Electric Bicycle Pedal Assist Sensor - Bike Power E-Bike PAS System - Assistant Sensor Speed Sensor with 5/8/12 Magnets by Timothy Kiley

I chose this 12 magnet unit to replace the broken 8 magnet unit that came with my eBike. This sensor is pre-wired with the JST SM connector. My controller also has a pin header. Thanks to other reviewers, I was able to identify the correct color coding for my controller cables. After several failed attempts to replace the JST connector with a female connector (I just can't get the hang of fitting those tiny crimped connectors into the plastic housing), I switched to USB Type-A soldering and have been using the tiny PAS 28 worked AWG wires became a bit simpler and connections more reliable. After assembly everything works perfectly. Aside from replacing the plug, I'm happy with the performance (so far). UPDATE (4/9/19). After about 20 miles the disc block stopped turning with the pedal grip. Not enough "bite" on the crankshaft to overcome the friction from the sensor block pulling when pedaling. Went back to the eBikeling brand that came with my eBike conversion kit. Fits much better on the crank.
