As many have pointed out, the hardest part of installing it is making sure you insert the vertical round metal stud into the hole on the new unit. I found that I had to hold the actuator about an inch below where the mounting holes lined up, insert the stem into the actuator, and then lift the actuator back up to line up with the mounting holes.
