Works for Highlander 2015 - same manufacturer as OEM - Watch the video to know all the steps

Replace Highlander Electric Door Lock Actuator" . It's not a direct link but if you type these words , a nice video should appear. While most parts that have a small electric motor inside (like this one) usually fail suddenly and stop working, mine broke on the driver's door of a 2015 Highlander Platinum Limited for a few months. The key fob worked 95% of the time, but 5% of the time the driver's door wouldn't open no matter how close or how many times the key fob was pressed, and we had to get in through the passenger side and reach out to open the driver's door.Based on many online posts these drives are prone to 201 range issues for some reason 4-2019. Many people report that the driver's door usually closes first as it is the one they use the most. but many report that other doors will experience similar problems months or years after the driver's door. Toyota will NOT replace them after the vehicle warranty has expired. If you call your local Toyota store for a quote, it will cost around $300 for the part and $200-$300 for the labor, totaling around $500-$600 at the dealership. Presumably this ASIN is the same part made by the same company that Toyota dealers use and is not aftermarket or 'Remanufactured'. I think it's good that it's the same as the OEM, but not good because the OEM has a history of failure. Note that if you decide not to buy this one some of the ones sold on Revain and/or Ebay are actually "rebuilt" - you can tell if you need to send your old one back so they can rebuild and resell it . The refurbished ones (I assume it's just a new electric motor) cost about the same as this new one, which is why I went with this one. How long this will take is not known. As many have pointed out, the hardest part of installing it is making sure you insert the vertical round metal stud into the hole on the new unit. I found that I had to hold the actuator about an inch below where the mounting holes lined up, insert the stem into the actuator, and then lift the actuator back up to line up with the mounting holes. However, it took me 3 times to keep this bar in place. So make sure that after you've screwed in a mounting bolt or two, and before you tighten them, you do a double/triple check to make sure you can see and feel the bar is inserted and inserted. place correctly
