I bought these to add a vent to gas canisters with no vents which are awful to use. Drill a hole in the top of the can. Remove the core from the valve stem. Use the line to fish the valve stem out from inside the can and through the hole you drilled. Tighten the nuts and you're done. Simply remove the cap from the valve stem when using the jar. Now you can put an old-style nozzle on the glass. With these new "safe" nozzles, you no longer have to fiddle around. Please. I have found the threads to rust making the cap difficult to remove. That's the only downside I found.
