This scoop cuts through frozen hard ice cream with ease. My parents' favorite ice cream gets extra hard in the freezer - they could never get their old ice cream scoop to make a dent in it. In fact, they have bent many common spoons over the years when the common spoon was dirty or could not be found. Lately they've been warming up the ice for 10-20 seconds before scooping, and while it works, it's not perfect (in my opinion - they don't seem to mind!). However, this scoop saved the day. Its sharp, flat corners can pierce through frozen hard ice with ease, and clipping the bullet is easy once you get started. I can't bring myself to make perfectly spherical balls for the hardest hard ice creams, but I can quickly fill a bowl with respectable-looking balls without too much effort (and more). spherical spoons will definitely be possible with softer ice creams).
