Review on πŸ“· High-Quality Sigma 35mm F1.4 Art DG HSM Lens for Canon, Black, Compact Size (340101) by Indal Kumar ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I thought it would be better, but overall not bad.

Glass produces a double sensation. On the one hand, this is a working 1.4, high-quality design . And, in general, an indisputable breakthrough of the manufacturer in lens construction. On the other hand, absolutely not usable with my 5D MkIII. With this lens, the Canon camera completely refuses to focus with all focus points except the center one. And this is on all the copies I have tested. There were three. Two of which gave front focus at close range and back at distances from 5-6m . And this is generally not curable by alignment. As for the bokeh - in my subjective opinion, there is a blur, but there is no volume in the picture. As a result, the glass is not usable on Canon (I have not heard of such a problem with Nikon). Filming with him is like dancing with your feet tied ((

Pros
  • High-quality assembled, giving excellent sharpness at an open aperture lens.
Cons
  • On the Canon 5D Mark III, it only focuses normally on the center point. With the rest (including cruciform ones) gives a strong front focus. When shooting from 1.5 meters, about 6 cm! Not stable quality from copy to copy. There is no protection against dust and moisture.

Its pros: The best lens: sharpness (open), bokeh, speed, accuracy, design, price. Got cons: Vignette up to 1.6 is too strong.
