I think contributing my $0.02 might be helpful to any of you who have a similar or identical niche use case for this epoxy as I do did it when I was looking for binders to fix the minor but debilitating error of the 80% AR completion attempt below. In my case, I kind of screwed up what I think is the most demoralizing part, which is the final steps (if that's what you want, of course) of drilling holes for the trigger pin, nullifying all of my expected satisfaction with an otherwise impeccable milled hands of a beginner. So after searching the web for tips on my options and realizing that they are very limited due to the nature of the common 7076 aluminum alloy that lower AR receivers are typically made from; I first tried the tried and tested, fully MURICANS ultra-resistant/permanent repair device JB Weld and unilaterally missed even a glimmer of hope or progress despite my determined will to try every possible adjustment to the application and healing technique with every single try, the diligence increase by about an order of magnitude for each round in the surface preparation method. Each attempt resulted in the same "playful" result as I attempted to re-drill holes for the trigger pin in the hope and expectation that the measly amount of epoxy I needed to fill in my mistake would stay tight and firmly in place. nice clean smooth surface after drilling. It probably works fine on other drilling substrates, but for this application it just sucks (because it fails miserably). BUT NOT THIS PRODUCT! THAT IS THE ANSWER! HOORAY! While the JB weld still retains strength when joined to 7076 alloys, its "toughness" is zero (on that note: in my opinion, it usually lacks this attribute of "toughness" in the formal/technical definition until to the point where I'd prefer JB Weld to drop the suggestion that it's an easy-to-drill adhesive as they seem to consider it a disappointing benefit if it doesn't *completely* fall apart when drilled It's like that, like someone looking at a derelict drilling house that has just survived a Category 5 hurricane like an impregnable fortress, although structurally it is completely compromised in every respect.), although I don't know what the shear and compressive strengths are of this epoxy it is *extremely* grippy and HEAVY. Nice, clean, smooth pin holes are now available too! Expensive, that's true, but unless you've already developed a legitimate way to fix the stupidity you've put into your AR build, be aware that whatever you try instead will be 100% without Doing certainty of success will probably make you spend more money before you listen to someone's real testimony, and I'm not the only one in this section of the review!
