Review on 🧶 Basic Combo Set for Yarn Ball Winder, Umbrella Swift, and Skein Holder by Carrie Spencer

If you're thinking of buying this Swift and Wonder set, I'm here to convince you to do yourself a favor and buy it. I'm relatively new to knitting and I hand knit my skeins. To be honest, this was probably the most frustrating part of the knitting process. Not only did this kit speed up/simplify the wrapping process, but it also motivated me to wrap ALL the accumulated hanks. Because yarn wrapping is now fun! And I had no idea how organized cakes instead of skeins/skeins would add to my knitting collection! Seeing my stash now, as Marie Kondo would say, "ignites joy." Plus, it's incredibly easy to knit! Even if the cakes disintegrate during use (I translate a lot of projects), I don't worry because I know how easy it will be to rewind them! I'm quite picky about the quality of my knitwear (I use Merino wool almost exclusively, Addi needles, glass stitch markers, etc.) and was concerned that the price (I paid $38 for a set) would make these tools subpar and possibly could damage my (pretty expensive) yarn. Since I wasn't sure if I even needed a swivel (and I did), I didn't want to invest in an expensive model (I'd rather spend money on thread and needles). But these work great! I have to say that the first time I used the Swift, the yarn went down and got caught on the metal bars. However, I quickly learned that the swift's height can be adjusted (basically everything about this thing can be adjusted), and I've lowered the swift closer to the table so that the yarn feeds right into the winder, creating a unwanted angle is eliminated. In the last photo you can see that the swift's metal spoke is below the level of the table top - here I adjusted the height to match the winch. And as for the curler, it shines too. ! The maximum capacity is 100g of yarn and it winds that amount perfectly (provided the yarn is trained and the tension is constant). Of course, when I use Swift with a winder, the necessary tension sets in. But when I rewound the skeins for storage, I had to control the yarn feed with my hand (which was almost nice because it was so fast!). Also, I should point out that the yarn on the winder in my photos (dark pink) actually weighs 130g - and the winder handled it like a champ! I didn't even realize it until I saw how big the cake was (compared to others) and didn't look at the yarn label. Needless to say, I was impressed! In short, if you are considering this set, I strongly recommend buying it. It will improve your knitting life for the better. And it's a lot.
