About sixteen happy children aged 5 to 12 had a lot of fun making candles together. At first they were surprised by it, but in the end everyone really liked it and that was all they talked about when we met again. It made an impression :-) My 8 year old son asked for a "beeswax birthday"! The set comes with large leaves that you can cut to size and plenty of string for the wicks. All you have to do is wrap a rectangle of beeswax tightly around the wick. Beeswax is a wonderful material to work with, it smells great and melts easily in the warmth of your palm. Most children chose at least two colors and either had stripes running down the length of the candle or molded shapes (hearts and stars were popular) and pressed them against their candle. We had a quiet and happy time making them together and parents shared how they liked having these candles at home: beeswax burns bright and clean. I personally liked the fact that it was an all natural, simple, nice smelling and easy to clean way to take an afternoon break. I highly recommend it.
