We needed a better way to transport our bikes than tossing them in the back of a truck and we chose this one porter. We can use it on both vehicles we own. I also bought a locking pin to attach to the hitch, for added theft protection we used a padlock and tether to secure the bikes to the vehicle and an extra CZC trailer hitch plate (one comes with the rack but used for removal). some play in the bracket and rod connection). NOTE: 1: As I mentioned before, we bought an extra clutch plate. There was a significant amount of play between the hitch and the bike rack that attaches to the handlebars. While it wasn't a problem, I felt better about reducing the sag and tightening that linkage. Now the wheels practically do not rock or rock while driving. Everything is securely fastened. 2: Replacing the hitch pin with a locking pin saves the worry of a thief or vandal unhooking the entire structure. 3: A 6-foot, 3/8-inch plastic-coated stainless steel cable and padlock add extra security to ensure no one takes the bike off the rack. Just extra protection.
