I thought this cover was dark chocolate brown. It seems more of a purplish brown if that makes sense. It's not real, just dark brown. It appears to be dark bluish-purple in color. It has cheap elastic zigzag stitching around the material parameter, the material is fully stretchable and needs to be stretched as much as possible to fit the pad, which barely runs at the top and only on the sides of the pad. It covers all sides of the front and top but not all sides of the rest of the pillow which is not visible. It leaves a sort of arch in the middle because it's drawn so tight that it stays in the corners. I bought it according to the measurements given in the description. If it were larger it would be bulged and wouldn't fit directly on the pillow and would likely come loose. Dressed and assembled, it looks very beautiful and is comfortable for sitting or lying down. It is not moisture resistant. It protected my pillows from dust and pet hair. but crumbs and dirt still soil the sides and it doesn't protect the padding on the sides or bottom of the pillow at all. Easy to wash in the washing machine and put back on. But lint sticks to it very easily and is difficult to remove without using a lint roller at least once a week.
