Once installed the filter works great. As previously mentioned, the filter housing installation is TERRIBLE. While the instructions state that it is intended for water supply using 3/8" plumbing, the hose supplied is actually 1/4" ID, NOT 3/8". The instructions suggest cutting the supply line above the check valve under the sink and "welding" the filter. However, most homes I know of don't have 1/4 inch pipe from the shutoff valve to the faucet, they have 3/8 inch flexible braided steel connecting pipes. You can't cut them. I went to Home Depot three times to get the right connections. So if you want to install this and don't have 1/4" XLPE pipe from the check valve to the faucet, you will need to buy 1/4" shark bite fittings. Unfortunately, 1/4" doesn't seem to be very common, and Home Depot's offering of Sharkbite 1/4" connectors has been extremely limited. home depot 202270607). One of them fits on the shut off valve (see first photo). The other I used in conjunction with a 3/8" compression connector (Home Depot 207176323) on the "OUT" side of the filter to then connect to the faucet supply line (see second photo), it cost me another $20 or so and 2 trips to the home depot to install this thing.body was in the wrong place.i used a small screwdriver to gently press the o-rings into place and put everything back together.
