Review on Alfie Pet Petoga Couture Recovery Cats good in Health Supplies by Kristine Schmidt

It is also such good quality and can be hand washed

OM God! This is the BEST collar for my pup! Not only can he wear it as shown in the picture, but you can flip it around so it sits on his shoulders instead of around his head - this will do the same thing and prevent your dog from aggravating his healing leg . Doesn't seem to bother. dog from wearing it so often. It is also such a good quality and can be hand washed, very supple. Dressed up as in the photo my pup looks like a clown (VERY silly) and when carried (backside down) on his shoulders he looks like an old Elizabethan collar, very cute and he looks MUCH better too , where he goes . My dog seems to prefer the second way MUCH more. Oh, and it also has a great adjustable drawstring, very nice. I DO NOT RECOMMEND your dog wearing this collar when you are NOT around unless you are sure he will not hurt himself trying to remove it from his neck. My dog doesn't seem to have any problems with it. But you never know how dogs can get into awkward "situations" if we don't follow them. Before I got this collar I tried everything to keep it from irritating my elbow and even when I was in the room he somehow managed to remove all the bandages every time, even using a slit toe to go through the bandages - he TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Stupid! With this collar it keeps him completely off the elbow and is a great product! ALL veterinary institutes must have dissertations. I give 10 stars! UPDATE: I have 2 dog doors in my house, one in the kitchen (no steps) and one in the laundry room (multiple steps). The one in the laundry room has a few steps up and out and a few more steps from the outside in. I've found that carrying it like a cone going in and out through a dog door can be a problem, although it can go in and out it's still a problem. It can be bent to make it work, but it's a little difficult to maneuver. Carrying it upside down on the shoulders makes it even more difficult to get in and out of the dog door ONLY because there are steps. No steps, no problem with him hitting back. However, there is a small problem with the steps because he steps on the collar. So you have to be careful how he goes in and out through the dog door so he doesn't hurt himself getting in and out. Usually the dog just needs a collar for Boo Boo to heal, so I just watch her walk up the stairs and help her through the dog door. I still LOVE the collar and my little pads love it too. Nevertheless I give 10 stars! UPDATE #2: After not using the collar for a long time, I needed it the other day and it had a boo boo face! Apparently, when you store this little booger, you need to store it in some form so that it keeps its shape. Maybe even the newspapers got lost in it. Whatever it is, once it's stored, it stays that way when it's needed again. I folded my apartment without thinking about it, but when I used it again it was a disaster! I tried getting it wet, washing it etc but the plastic ribs inside gave it an ugly crumpled shape that couldn't be changed. The product is still a great product, it just needs to be kept very carefully so that it can be used again in the future. Mine was so bad I had to throw it out but I will definitely order again if I ever need it. The seller should really sell it in a plastic box to protect the cone for future use so it never warps again.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
