it works it's better than most

no I didn't buy this to be cool at traffic lights or to get girls! I am 30 years old and a former mechanic, what should I do if my airbox is cracked and the hoses are ruptured? I appreciate OEM replacements! then I explore options that don't cost $500. Option 1, junkyard, but every good motor is gone and the airbox is mostly sold with it, secondly, most junkyards only take a small fraction of the OEM price, so you don't save much. Option 2: Get one of those "Ricer Mod" aluminum tubes with a cone filter. My complaints are that mass air flow sensors never fit, they either don't seal because the hole is drilled 1/8" too big, the bolt holes are misaligned, or so much powder coating material gets in the holes that you have to rub them. Second complaint: They're noisy, guys with little ones. You know, think that's great, people like me don't need any extra attention, especially when the cops can hear you coming from afar now and can sit back and wait while you drive by!, otherwise they're doing their job, the engine breathes better, I noticed some SMALL mpg gains at 70-75 freeway trips (about 1-2 mpg) due to the lower restriction. Increase HP HA no! Trust me, "Short Intakes" don't add HP. In the real world, they suck in hot air (less dense, less O2). The only advantages are a slight increase in throttle response, lots of noise and maybe on a really cold day with cruise control on in 5th gear 1-2 miles gallon compared to the standard 28-29. But the biggest question is: yes, it looks good, very nice powder coating, a washable filter, all the necessary accessories and ties, and of course the most important thing. loads of decals and a license plate frame! However, if you need to replace the airbox/hoses on a 2003 onwards Mitsubishi Lancer (Ralliart) and want to stay under $200, AEM makes the highest quality noise tube on the market, it's not exactly as mentioned before the mass sensor airflow . The hole is too big and without a large o-ring it will leak and the dreaded check engine light will come on, but if you can figure it out it will help and make your engine bay look like a colorful miniature water park.

  • air intake
Cons
  • can hurt
