We bought this basket because we had very little cargo space in our minivan with 4 children including 16 month old twins in monster car seats. It wasn't difficult to assemble, but it took more than two hands. The instructions, while not particularly detailed, are sufficient to get the job done. It takes at least two people to fit a fully assembled carrier onto a car without tearing the whole thing apart. We have a minibus so we used extension cords. Attaching the basket to the rails wasn't difficult, but it did require some measurement and planning. Please note that you will need crossbars for your car - this item does NOT need to be directly on the roof of your car! I would suggest taking a bungee net or roof bag to put in the basket. Overall, the basket worked well for us and allowed us to carry enough luggage to go on a longer trip than we would have otherwise. We are happy with this purchase.
