Done! Two working keychains again. I was looking to buy these to replace two broken key fobs as I figured it would be easy and free to program them on the machine. I found out that I would need an auto mechanic to program it, and that prompted me to dig in my tool box for a soldering iron to fix the broken battery mounts in my original key fobs. Apparently I soldered well. You're back to work. Obviously it was necessary to solder the battery holder back onto the board. But I believe the keyboards were part of the problem, so buying new $21 keychains (with shipping) wasn't a waste of money, even though I throw away the new circuit boards. For $21 I got 2 new batteries and 2 new key cases with new keypads! Not as I saw it, but definitely very happy with the result!
