Just what I needed

I bought a new LG UHD TV and wanted an HDMI cable to two TVs in different rooms with a dish receiver with a cable box with just one HDMI output route the cable box boxes. It got the job done by plugging a 10ft HDMI cable into the dish box into the transmitter box of this new HDMI extender. I then hooked up the existing downstairs TV where the dish receiver is located to the HDMI out on the transmitter extender and then connected a 50 foot CAT 5e cable from the transmitter to the receiver running it through the wall including leads to the new LG. TV upstairs in family room. I then connected a 5ft HDMI cable to the receiver extension on the back of the TV. I connected both devices, turned them on. Yes I connected the HDMI switch on my TV to the correct HDMI port, in my case HDMI 2. The picture is great and the surround sound is great. This works and solved the big problem of connecting more than one HDTV to the dish cable box with HDMI. CAT 5e cables allow you to work long distances and are much cheaper. Just make sure there is solid copper wire inside the CAT 5e cable. Certainly better than renting a plate container and Joey.
