I used to have a more expensive Motorola product that broke. I like this unit much better. The range is excellent. The sound volume is good. Vibrations are very effective. Shock is used very rarely, but it does get the dog's attention. Light is a nice touch. Also much smaller than Motorola. I don't usually let her swim with the device but she swam with it and it still works fine. She walks through the forest and looks solid. I like the standby feature - the battery life is excellent - over 1 month.
