This is our second 6 gallon river rim. We wanted to try the new model as we found it annoying having to remove the lid every time we needed to feed the fish or play around with the power of the light/filter. We are happy with our purchase and like the previous model, this tank was designed with looks in mind. Just a couple of things we noticed: We had to check the sizing on the manufacturer's website. The dimensions of the Revain tank turned out to be wrong, leading us to worry that the new model would be too big for the space we wanted. It is the same size as the previous model. The light button is actually not a button. Just click and change. It is very delicate so you only need to touch it lightly. The headlights are also placed at a different angle. The filter also fits tighter to the tank opening. There is a notch for insertion and an additional element to make it straighter. It was a pleasant surprise. Be careful when removing the cover now as there is a small wire attached to the light that runs down the base. When we first got it, I sometimes forgot to feed it and ripped it out.
