Consult an electrician

As mentioned, the installation instructions are lengthy, but we figured it out and only had trouble making sure we got the wiring right in the last few steps. After consulting an electrician friend, I found that my instincts were right and it worked perfectly. Now we get loads of compliments as it's in the main living area of our home so everyone who comes in will notice. It is very quiet and moves a lot of air. The main reason we wanted this particular model was the lighting options. This is fantastic lighting for our dark living room.
