I have had drip coffee makers for many years and the only one that has ever made the coffee hot enough for me was Bunn (it was expensive, I liked it but it only lasted for 2 years). I didn't want to spend that much money now, but I couldn't live with my lukewarm groats anymore. I remembered the steaming brewed coffees of my youth and how delicious the first two cups were before the rest took on a burnt taste. I saw this while shopping and noticed the "Warm" feature that promised to keep the coffee hot without over-boiling and for the price it was worth a try. I had to experiment a bit to get the right grind size (I grind myself) and I had to try it with and without the filter. The filters weren't really necessary except for a finer grind, but I liked how easy they were to clean. I also think I get the best flavor from a grind that's somewhere between a drip and an espresso. That's my preference, but I've also made pretty good coffee with pre-ground Folgers Silk. I checked the temperature of the first cup poured and it was 180. The third cup, an hour later, was 165 and didn't burn at all. Considering the price of the thermal banna I wanted was $126 and this one was $30 I am very happy with the purchase. It's so nice to be able to pour another cup of hot coffee as opposed to the cool coffee I got from my 1 year old Krups.
