Wash before use.

This rug is 100% cotton and is not plush. The chenille braided side is soft on the feet but I wouldn't call it plush. It is woven and VERY THICK to absorb water. Hang it up after use. The first time we washed and dried it there was so much lint and cotton threads in the washer and dryer that I thought it was going to fall apart. It didn't collapse at all. This is not pre-shrunk and shedding is normal. The rug held up great, washed in hot water and a hot dryer, and shrunk to the advertised size of 5 feet or 60 inches. It fits perfectly in front of our bathtub/shower. Packaging and delivery were satisfactory. i buy another one
