Review on πŸ”Œ Optimize Your Garmin Fitness Devices with the Garmin USB ANT Stick by William Mahajan

Works perfectly until it stops working due to a design issue

This is my second Garmin mini USB ant+ that is not working. Each lasted 1 to 2 years. If it works, it's great. No dropouts when connecting power meter pedals to laptops for trainer road sessions. Small so I can leave it plugged in when I don't need that USB port. Which brings me to a design flaw. The connection of the device is unreliable because the housing is half the size of a typical USB device. This leads to poor contact over time. Whether it's because of the uninstall and reinstall, or because I left the USB stick while lugging my laptop around and it's in my backpack under stress, I'm not entirely sure. However, in the end, in both error cases, my laptop no longer recognizes the flash drive. After messing around with the stick I get it working again, but the usage intervals decrease pretty quickly, and eventually, no matter how many times I pop it out and plug it back in, or apply pressure, I put the chip back into the connector housing, etc ., my laptop doesn't recognize it. Disappointing because I believe this issue would have been solved if Garmin had used a more traditional connector style. I recently bought a generic flash drive with a proven USB connector - hopefully it will last more than two years and work as well as this version (if it runs).
